The Divine Mercy Chaplet

The Divine Mercy Chaplet is a prayer that is part of the Divine Mercy devotion, which is based on the revelations of Jesus Christ to St. Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun who lived in the early 20th century. The chaplet is a form of intercessory prayer that seeks the mercy of God for all people, especially for those who are suffering or in need.

Here is how to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet:

  1. Begin with the Sign of the Cross, saying: “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”
  2. Say the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Apostles’ Creed.
  3. On the large beads of the rosary, pray the following words: “Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.”
  4. On the smaller beads of the rosary, pray the following words: “For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”
  5. Repeat step 4 for all five decades of the chaplet.
  6. Conclude by saying three times: “Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”

The Divine Mercy Chaplet is a powerful prayer that seeks the mercy of God for all people, especially for those who are suffering or in need. It is a beautiful expression of faith and trust in God’s infinite love and mercy, and a call to share that love and mercy with others.
