The Anima Christi

The Anima Christi is a traditional Catholic prayer that dates back to the 14th century. It is a prayer that expresses the desire to be united with Jesus Christ and to receive His grace and mercy.

Here is the full text of the Anima Christi prayer:

“Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Water from the side of Christ, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O good Jesus, hear me. Within Your wounds, hide me. Separated from You, let me never be. From the malignant enemy, defend me. At the hour of death, call me. And close to You, bid me. That with Your saints, I may be, praising You forever and ever. Amen.”

The Anima Christi is a beautiful prayer that invites us to seek the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ in our daily lives. It expresses our desire to be united with Him, to be strengthened by His passion and to be protected from all harm. This prayer is often said after receiving Holy Communion, but can be prayed at any time to deepen our relationship with Christ.
